The 2015 Onsite Wastewater Mega-Conference is a collaborative effort between the following respected organizations:
- National Onsite Wastewater Recycling Association (NOWRA)
- National Association of Wastewater Technicians (NAWT)
- State Onsite Regulators Alliance (SORA)
- Virginia Onsite Wastewater Recycling Association (VOWRA)
The Onsite Wastewater Mega-Conference will serve as the 2015 Annual Conference for NOWRA, VOWRA and SORA, and the 2015 Treatment Symposium for NAWT. This is the first-ever collaboration between the three major national organizations which focus on onsite/decentralized wastewater systems, and the partnership with VOWRA adds the expertise of one of the largest and most innovative and effective statewide organizations.

Approximately 600-800 people are expected to attend this event, which will be held at the Virginia Beach Convention Center Shown above. Participants will include professionals from all regions of the country, and all sectors of the industry:
- Engineers, System Designers and Soil Scientists
- Academic researchers and educators
Small business owners and employees whose companies design, install, operate and maintain onsite and decentralized systems on a contractual basis
More than 60 education sessions and posters will be during this conference, with education tracks covering: groundwater and reuse; soils and design; regulation (including special SORA sessions); nutrient removal and system performance; policy, management & treatment; and septage treatment and resource recovery (NAWT Treatment Symposium). A number of Virginia-specific courses are offered in the VOWRA track.
Three field trips are also planned. Two will visit onsite/decentralized wastewater treatment installations in Eastern Virginia and North Carolina. The third will visit several septage handling facilities maintained by the Hampton Roads Sanitation District (HRSD).
In addition, an extensive exposition will be held, featuring manufacturers offering products which serve the range of needs of industry professionals. Finally, the conference will be the site of the National Backhoe Roe-D-Hoe® -- an annual competition to highlight equipment operating skills of industry contractors. The national champion for 2015-16 will be crowned at the conclusion of the event
Regardless of which segment of the onsite wastewater business is your focus, this conference can help you identify opportunities and ideas which lead to greater success for you and the organization you represent.
