Conference Highlights

Choose from more than 50 sessions covering regulation, policy, installation, technical issues and case studies.

NOWRA is working hard at the federal level to secure increased funding and enact policies which support greater use of onsite systems, but what happens in your state is perhaps even more important to the success of professionals in your state. If your state association is not currently representing the industry in your state capital, this will help you get started. If you already have a presence in your state capital, this session will provide lots of ideas about how to improve your reach and effectiveness

One of the big challenges for everyone in our industry is securing funding to install new systems and to repair and replace existing systems. This workshop will help address that challenge. While getting funding -- either grants or loans -- is not easy, there are more options at the federal, state levels than you may realize, plus some private capital sources worth considering. Come learn more about funding options in this interactive workship.

This one-day training session will benefit owners and employees who are new to the vacuum truck business and need a solid base of information, and even more experienced vac truck operators whothose who may need a refresher course. Individuals participating in the training may wish to take a test following the course in order to receive a certificate of course completion. No charge for the training, but there is a $75 charge for the test.

Three excellent field trips are planned. One will focus on innovative small onsite wastewater systems, septage management and how the Delaware Technical and Community College plays a role in training industry professsionals. A second trip will focus on innovative larger systems, many of them managed by private utilities. A third field trip will visit Washington DC so that participants can lobby their senators and representatives. See below.

NOWRA needs your help to carry our message to Washington that our industry deserves more support and funding. Our industry receives just a tiny, tiny fraction of funding compared to centralized treatment facilities and many policies work against our interests. If you've never had the time or money to attend our Annual Legislative Fly-in in late Spring each year, this field trip is for you. Washington, DC is just a short distancce from Dover, DE and we will take you there for an afternoon of lobbying your senators and representatives about why our industry deserves more support. We will pair you up with someone who has lobbied Congress before, brief you on the key issues, feed you breakfast and lunch, and even schedule your congressional appointments. Please join us.
