The 2022 Richard J. Otis Industry Achievement Award was given to former NOWRA President, James Bell at the 2022 Onsite Wastewater Mega-Conference. The award which is named after NOWRA Past-president, Richard Otis, is presented annually to an individual who has made outstanding contributions to both NOWRA and the onsite industry. Bell served as President of NOWRA in 2017 and 2018 and was a key driver in establishing NOWRA's Online Learning. He also has a distinguished history of being involved with the industry serving on the NSF Wastewater Joint Committee for 30 years. The award was presented at the Opening Session of the recent 2022 Onsite Wastewater Mega-Conference held in Springfield, Missouri by NOWRA President, Sara Heger.
