NOWRA has launched NOW-R2 (Needs for Onsite Wastewater Recycling Research), an unprecedented effort aimed at identifying priority research questions for onsite wastewater treatment and resource recovery. A steering committee has been formed with balanced representation from NOWRA, EPA, the Water Research Foundation, and the Water Environment & Reuse Foundation to guide the research survey.
Though onsite wastewater recycling represents a critical program for environmental and public health and water resource management in the United States, an attempt to identify key research needs for this growing area of importance has not occurred at the national level.
A web-based survey has been sent in which priority research and policy questions will be requested from NOWRA members and related organizations.
